King Harbor Yacht Club - Open for Dining (Patio Only) - No Bar

July 2, 2020

This week Los Angeles County and the State of California have ordered the closing of all bars and restricted restaurants to outside dining and curbside pickup. The Board of Directors met Wednesday Night and approved a change in hours and other policies in response to this. Dining will only be available in outside locations (the east patio). Members will be allowed to enter the club to use restrooms. Our bar is currently closed, alcohol is only available with meals.

Note that the board also voted to relax the guest policy. There is still a limit of two guests per membership, but we have dropped the requirement that guests must be members of your own household. We are still restricting payments to member charges only, so your guest’s charges will need to go on your account.

NEW Dining Hours – East Patio Only
Reservations or Call in Advance to confirm availability of seating.

Thursday - Dinner served 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Friday – Lunch served 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Friday - Dinner served 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday - Dinner/Lunch served 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday - Club Closed

Please note the following requirements:

1. We are only allowing member charges (no cash/credit cards) to comply with the LA County protocol that “Technology solutions where possible have been implemented to reduce person-to-person interaction; mobile ordering and menu tablets, text on arrival for seating, contactless payment options.” Note that your member charge includes an 18% gratuity.
2. We do not want members having to mill around waiting for a table (which isn’t allowed), please make a reservation or call in advance to make sure a table is available.

3. LA County limits tables to a maximum of 6 people. Per LA County and state requirements, all members of the party must be present before seating and hosts must bring the entire party to the table at one time. Please do not show up at the club and ask to be seated with someone you already see present.

4. Face Coverings are required except when eating or drinking. Members are instructed that they must wear cloth face coverings whenever they are not eating and/or drinking; this includes upon entry to the facility, when walking anywhere in the facility, and when using the restrooms.

5. Alcohol can only be served with a food purchase.

6. No congregating. Per county requirements: “Discourage employees and customers from congregating in high traffic areas such as bathrooms, hallways, bar areas, reservation, and credit card terminals, etc.”

Please note that these requirements are in place due to regulations imposed on us by the county and state.  We do not like it either.

What to Expect at KHYC:
All members arriving at the club to dine must have a reservation, check-in, have a no-contact temperature check, and sign the club waiver.

The health order requires that members arrive and be seated at the same time and remain in their own group and do not gather to visit with others. This doesn’t mean you cannot talk to the people at the next table.

Members are reminded to bring sweaters and wraps for use while dining as you will be seated outside.

Members are required to wear their name badges at all times while in the building and on KHYC grounds. Temporary paper badges will be available at check-in and in the office. This is necessary so staff can identify non-member guests.

The use of KHYC docks is strictly limited to KHYC members. All boats tied to any KHYC dock are required to fly their KHYC burgee at all times regardless of their length of stay.

The Galley Menu is updated often.  Please find it in the menus under "Current Info".
