The following is a summary of rules for participating at KHYC during the COVID19 crisis.  Please note that these Rules are imposed by the county and state, and we must follow them regardless of whether or not we agree with them or think they make sense.
Please do not confront the staff if they ask you to comply.

1) Face Coverings are required except when eating or drinking, even when just transiting the club grounds. This includes upon entry to the facility, when walking anywhere in the facility, and when using the restrooms.  If you are unable to wear a face-covering you may request takeout only be delivered to your car; you may not enter the building or traverse the grounds.

2) People in the same party seated at the same table do not have to be six feet apart. All members of the party must be present before seating and hosts must bring the entire party to the table at one time. On-site seating at a table shall be limited to no more than 6 people at the same party. (this means that you can't simply show up at the club and decide to sit with someone who is already seated).  If you arrive before the rest of your party, please wait OUTSIDE the building - do not sign in until your entire party is assembled in the parking lot.

3) Members will be required to wear their name badges at all times while in the building and on KHYC grounds. Temporary paper badges will be available at check-in and in the office. This is necessary so staff can identify non- member guests.

4) Use of KHYC docks is limited to KHYC members and reciprocal club members only.   All boats tied to any KHYC dock are required to fly their KHYC (or reciprocal club) burgee at all times regardless of their length of stay.  Every boat must sign in with the Front Office.  Should the club office be closed, phone 310-376-2459 and leave your name, boat name, contact information and length of stay.

5) Dining is only available in the outside patio area (or take out).  Members will be allowed to enter the club to use restrooms. Our bar is currently closed, alcohol is only available with meals.

6) Payments are restricted to member charges only, so your guest’s charges will need to go on your account.  This is to comply with the LA County protocol that “Technology solutions where possible have been implemented to reduce person-to-person interaction; mobile ordering and menu tablets, text on arrival for seating, contactless payment options.” Note that your member charge includes an 18% gratuity.

7) No congregating per county requirements: “Discourage employees and customers from congregating in high traffic areas such as bathrooms, hallways, bar areas, reservation, and credit card terminals, etc.”

8) All members arriving at the club must enter through the front door.  Dining reservations are recommended.  Everyone must check-in, have a no-contact temperature check, and sign the club waiver.

9) Up to four (4) guests are allowed per membership number. This applies to all current permitted activities at the club (dining, on-the-water activities, maintenance on boats in the east yard).  Guests must enter the club with the member via the front door.  If you are engaging in permitted on-the-water activities with guests, you must meet your guests at the club. If they arrive ahead of you they need to wait in the parking lot for you, they may not enter the club property without you (this requirement has always been in place).

10) The "Patio Bubble" is a restricted area while open for dining. No transit of the patio from waterside or the east yard is currently permitted.
