King harbor Boat Parade
Charitable contributions Please Use this form.
This annual holiday event, organized by KHYC, features King Harbor-based boats decorated with thousands of lights and displays interpreting an annual theme. The boat parade is a fundraiser for several local charities, including the King Harbor Youth Foundation, Santa Monica Bay Maritime Training and Waterfront Education. The Grand Marshall's favorite charity also receives a portion of the funds raised. The whole harbor gets involved, and local restaurants and hotels are packed with guests enjoying the parade. The community may watch the parade from grandstands setup in Moonstone Park. The boats compete for trophies (and bragging rights). There are sometimes two parades, one for paddle craft late in the afternoon, and shortly after dark for boats 20-80 feet long.
Please consider a contribution to the worthy organizations working to connecting youth with on-water and ocean conservation activities.
