Welcome Racers & Ocean Enthusiasts!

Women’s Race Fleet is the club’s fleet for women with a variety of sailing skill levels from, ‘I know much about it but am willing to learn’ to ‘Oh man it has been too long since I sailed!’ The fleet’s object and goals are to enhance the knowledge we have and share our techniques and knowledge with each other while developing our relationship to each other. We invite women in the King Harbor area who want to sail, race, encourage, learn, socialize, preserve, and enjoy our shared passion – the wonderland of the ocean.

Even though we are a young fleet, we continue to grow and expand our gatherings to include sail related presentations, hands-on VHF radio practice, race clinics, summer “on the water evenings” like Standup Paddle Boarding sunset cruises; or share a glass of wine or beer together on the patio.

We are committed to this area’s women’s racing which includes: attending many of the “Woman at the Helm” regattas: She Devil Regatta, June Cup, the WOW/WAH and the Linda Elias Memorial One Design. We have partnered with local organizations to help the novices attend affordable sailing lessons. In addition, we can help you find a boat and be a crew member during the harbor’s Tuesday and Thursday Twilight races.

We collaborate and support sister groups – The WSA chapter of Santa Monica Bay and the Sea Gals of Long Beach who have the same enthusiasm for encouraging woman on the water and celebrating the women who participate.

Our meetings are generally the last Monday of the month at KHYC – 6:30 pm social / 7:00 pm discussion/programs. In the summer instead of meeting inside, we gather for fun or educational activities on the water. Plan on joining us when you can.
